How it all started......
After the purchase of our Chihuahua "Billy Joe", (named by our daughters' after the lead singer of Green Day), I soon embarked on a shopping spree, (with Billy Joe in My Purse of course!!). I just wanted a couple of fashionable outfits, sweaters, jeans, polo shirts, etc., - Oh, and a nice sparkling Swarovski crystal collar with a classy looking leash!! However, much to my dismay, store after store after store I found nothing fashionable to put on my precious Billy Joe! When the store did have something in Billy Joe's size there was no real selection. When I did find something for Billy Joe (from a selection of only 8 -10 items at most) then the sizes became a problem. All sizes were listed as Small, Medium, or Large - As if all dogs come in just three sizes!!
When selection and size were available (very rare!) then the material or design had poor quality or no fashion appeal! Well I knew that something had to be done and fast. I felt bad for all the K-9s' having to wear less than desirable, unfashionable, loose fitting clothes.
I immediately called my first cousin "Nicki". Nicki had mentioned on my last trip to Asia that she had helped an uncle design some pet clothes, so my husband and I began to brainstorm on the supply and demand for a line of fashionable, well tailored pet clothes in a variety of styles, colors and sizes. After studying the market, we came to the conclusion that the demand was there, but the supply (direct to the public) was less than minimal. After our findings, we planned a trip to Asia to visit with the factory and it's owners in order to get the ball rolling.
Working in a non-stop forward motion towards our goals and concept, our vision became reality, three months after our trip, when we opened our first store in Rancho Cucamonga at Victoria Gardens. Billy Joe as you can see, is truly one of the best dressed dogs in California and Dawgon Wild fashions and accessories brand was born!!
